As relates to being a tool capable of subtly contributing to producing a generation of extremely narcissistic adults consider the subtle accomplishment of such as young parents obliviously begin, from birth on, to generate an unrelenting stream of email photos to family & friends totally focused on every “cute” thing their new little one does. As this practice progresses from birth, to crawling, to pulling up, to that first step, taking his first bite of “real” food, etc., with the little one always clad in cutesy outfits that draw ooooh’s & aaaah’s from all who see his pictures, the impressions being made in this child’s mind of the centrality his own importance are laying a solid foundation for a very self focused, narcissistic heart attitude. Suffice it to say, the development of personal cognition on the child’s part is inconsequential to these impressions being sown in the child’s heart & mind at whatever level of development he is in.
The longer this process continues unabated, the more self consumed & demanding the individual is likely to become. Such unabashed, unwise, unceasing adulation feeds the already fallen, depraved, self loving heart of any/every lost child & is fertile ground for producing an adult whose life is devoid of any capacity for real, genuine unselfish, selfless love, respect, gratefulness, thoughtful consideration of others, forgiveness or compassion. And, this will all be subtly accomplished while, obliviously, the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, & acquaintances laughingly, lightheartedly proclaim how funny, cute & sweet or precocious little Johnny is in his demanding ways. What is foolishly deemed cute & precocious from birth to five or six years of age, as the years go by, frequently begins to morph from cute & funny to ultimately being deemed disrespectful, disgusting, egotistic, self consumed, repulsively obnoxious & offensive – II Tim 3:1-7.
