Be Glad In Our Lord!

Be “glad”in our Lord (“Be” indicates a willful act; a grateful, joyful daily act of loving obedience) – Ps 118:24:

Ps 4:7: 7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and new wine abound.  Don’t miss the glory of the “past tense” nature of God’s loving gift/blessing of a heart of “gladness”; gladness that transcends earthly circumstances (Phil 4:4-5,6-7,8,11, 13, 19) because it emanates forth from the very heart of God to His own (Ezkl 11:19-21; 36:25- 27; I Ptr 1:3,4-5,6a).

5:11:  11  But let all who take refuge in (Col 2:9- 10) You be (“be” denotes an act of willful, trusting, grateful attitudinal obedience of the command) glad, let them ever sing for joy; and may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You. 

9:2:  2 I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

14:7:  7  Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord restores His captive people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad (Mt 19:28; Rev 21:12)

16:9:  9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices (Pro 15:13; 17:22); my flesh also will dwell securely

21:1,6: 1  O Lord, in Your strength the king will be glad, and in Your salvation how greatly he will rejoice!……..6 For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence. 

30:11:  11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, 

31:7:  7 I will rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindness, because You have seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul, 

32:11: 11 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; and shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart. 

40:9,16:  9  I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; behold, I will not restrain my lips, O Lord, You know…………16 Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!”

45:8,15:  8 All Your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made You glad………….15 They will be led forth with gladness and rejoicing; they will enter into the King’s palace.

46:4:  4  There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling places of the Most High. 

48:11:  11 Let Mount Zion be glad, let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of Your judgments. 

51:8:  8  Make me to hear joy and gladness, let the bones which You have broken rejoice. 

53:6:  6 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores His captive people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. 

64:10:  10 The righteous man will be glad in the Lord and will take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart will glory. 

67:4:  4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for You will judge the peoples with uprightness and guide the nations on the earth. 

68:3:  3 But let the righteous be glad; let them exult before God; yes, let them rejoice with gladness.

69:32:  32 The humble have seen it and are glad; you who seek God, let your heart revive. 

70:4:  4  Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let those who love Your salvation say continually, “Let God be magnified.” 

86:4: 4 Make glad the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. 

90:14,15:  14 O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. 15 Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us, and the years we have seen evil. 

92:4:  4 For You, O Lord, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands

96:11:  11  Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all it contains; 

97:1,8,11,12:  1  The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad…….8 Zion heard this and was glad, and the daughters of Judah have rejoiced because of Your judgments, O Lord…….11 Light is sown like seed for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart…….12 Be glad in the Lord, you righteous ones, and give thanks to His holy name. 

100:2:  2 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. 

104:15,31,34:  15 And wine which makes man’s heart glad, So that he may make his face glisten with oil, and food which sustains man’s heart..…31  Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; let the Lord be glad in works;………..34 Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; as for me, I shall be glad in the Lord. 

105:3,38;  3  Glory in His holy name; let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad……. 38 Egypt was glad when they departed, for the dread of them had fallen upon them. 

106:5:  5 That I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, that I may glory with Your inheritance. 

107:30,42:  30 Then they were glad because they were quiet, so He guided them to their desired haven……..42 The upright see it and are glad; but all unrighteousness shuts its mouth.

109:28:  28 Let them curse, but You bless; when they arise, they shall be ashamed, but Your servant shall be glad.

118:24: 24 This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. 

119:74:  74 May those who fear You see me and be glad, because I wait for Your word. 

122:1:  1  I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” 

126:3:  3 The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.

149:2:  2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King.
