Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me”:
Notice “walk”, “through”, “shadow”, “no”, “with”, “comfort” – all are words that capture the reality of physical death being, for the child of God, a momentary, “fleeting/passing” reality that ushers us, for eternity, into the humanly incomprehensible, glorious presence of our Holy Heavenly Father, to worship & fellowship with Him in sinless, glorified perfection eternally – 1 Cor 15.
I am, at times, reminded of the “shadow of death” when I’m driving & I pass an 18 wheeler, as I pass thru its shadow, momentarily covering my entire car & me inside, moving forward on that “continuum of concrete” (the hwy). Even so, death, on God’s continuum of eternity, is a passing event, that we, as His beloved chosen children “walk through” to arrive at our final, eternal destination in His Holy presence – I Ptr 1:3-5,6a,6b-9. Even so is it equally true for unbelieving sons of Adam, who having also walked “through the valley of the shadow of death”, do in like manner, arrive at their final, eternal destination, but with one eternally significant difference – Rev. 20:11-15
