As a former Jr. High Art and Physical Education teacher, coach, Jr High counselor, Christian School headmaster, pastor and the director of a nouthetic, Biblical counseling ministry for the past thirty three years, I have been involved my entire adult life (81 years now) with children, young people, and their parents in a teaching, counseling, discipling role regularly focused on the pursuit of righteousness individually and as husbands and wives seeking to learn God’s order for the family – the development and maintaining of a Christian family/home. In addition, my wife and I, for many years, were involved with single adults in discipleship Bible study through the ministry of our local church. Speaking of my wife, God’s single most significant earthly blessing of His favor in my life, as Solomon notes in Proverbs 18:22, having been married for, soon to be, sixty one years, we continue, in the Holy Spirits faithful enabling, to learn more and more of the faithful practice of the covenant love of Christ for His bride, the church, as defined by Paul in I Corinthians 13:4-8a. God has blessed us with two children, a son and a daughter. Both are married and have blessed us with twelve grandchildren, some of whom are married and establishing their own homes and, at the time of this writing, have presently blessed us with two great grandchildren with three more on the way.
Every blog posted on this site will be based on the Holy Spirit’s teaching by way of the faithful study of His Holy word, in and through all of the above stated vocational opportunities afforded me over these years. As stated on our home page, the single primary purpose of this blog is to glorify our Lord by seeking to faithfully and accurately lift up the authority and veracity of His Holy word and challenge every believer who reads our posts to a more diligent pursuit of righteousness through their own diligent, consistent, unceasing study of God’s word as Paul admonished Timothy in II Timothy 2:15 based on the truth he states in II Timothy 3:16-17.
II Timothy 3:16-17: 16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
II Timothy 2:15: 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
